You have probably experienced it. 1 in 6 adults have. Whether it’s panic disorder (hey, it’s me 👋), generalized anxiety disorder, (oop, that’s me too) agoraphobia (used to be me), specific phobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (me again! 💁🏻♀️), or separation anxiety disorder, we have all felt it in some capacity.
Anxiety looks different for everyone, and often looks like something completely different. (Hello faking a stomach ache to leave the room during a panic attack).
Do you drink because social situations make you uncomfortable? Do you worry about worst-case scenarios that keep you up at night? Have you experienced trauma that comes out as anger? Do you count the number of tiles on a wall so your best friend doesn’t die in a horrendous fiery accident? Maybe you’re just nervous about tomorrow so it makes you feel sad. Anxiety.
And while we may not all be diagnosed, we have all felt it.
What has anxiety looked like for you?
Talk about it, because someone else feels it too.
We are all mental. But we’re not alone.
